Welcome to my Battleforge Strategy Guide. The goal of this site is to help players in deck selection for pvp as well as pve, provide walkthroughs to Battleforge's PVE story missions from the simple single player maps to the complex 12 player games. This game is huge, so building the guide will take time and naturally it may never be finished. My goal is to gradually add new content and establish a solid, helpful resource that will help both newbies and veterans alike. While a well-developed wikia exists for the game, I hope to go beyond its scope with more in-depth analysis of units, their strengths, and provide tips to using them effectively in battle.

What is Battleforge?
Battleforge is a free to play real-time strategy game by Electronic Arts. It brings some interesting innovations to this traditional system. Instead of building up a base, gathering resources and eventually amassing an army, you'll be out to capture power wells and monuments. This leads to much more active gameplay, but its pace can be slow at times as you gather power for a spell or to summon a powerful unit. It is a game where a single spell or unit can change the entire course of a battle, so resource management, timing and strategy will be crucial to victory.

Battleforge is played entirely online. Even PVE (Player vs Environment) matches that aren't against other players require you to log into the server. This allows Battleforge to track your stats and keeps players honest. Cheaters are banned regularly so that those of us who work hard, and spend our money on the game are sure we can have a fair chance.

Whereas other strategy games have factions with set units, Battleforge allows you to select your own deck. This will determine what units, buildings and spells are available to you for play. Every player begins with the same deck, and cards are generally unobtainable without spending some Battleforge Points. There's the catch -- the game is free, but in order to get full enjoyment out of it you're going to need to spend some money on some Battleforge Points (BFP). Many cards are available on the Batleforge marketplace for the equivalent of a couple cents in US Dollars, so building a respectable deck doesn't have to cost you an arm and leg. The rarest varieties tend to cost a couple bucks and some may even be so powerful or ultra-rare that they reach upwards of 1,000 BFP or about $10.

If you're a real-time strategy gamer, Battleforge definitely deserves a try. Don't go in and expect to be satisfied without spending some cash. Enjoy the free version as a fully-functional demo that allows you to see just what the game is like before you spend cash. Just do us all a favor and don't be a beggar or scammer.
